Meet Brookes
BROOKES MOODY has a full-length collection of intertextual poetry, Astral Weeks, Etc., forthcoming from Finishing Line Press. She earned a PhD in English with a concentration in creative writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she taught literary journal production and creative writing. She also holds an MFA in creative writing from The New School. A Jersey girl with Rhode Island roots, her poetry and creative nonfiction has appeared in magazines like swamp pink (formally Crazyhorse), Mississippi Review, The Literary Review, phoebe, and Crab Creek Review, among others. A founding editor of the online poetry magazine The Mackinac, Brookes has served as the Development Manager for Cream City Review, co-coordinated the Eat Local::Read Local poetry series, and worked in the Publisher's Office at Red Hen Press. You can find Brookes spending her vacation days at one writing retreat or another.

Outside of PoetryDuring college and while getting her Masters, Brookes lived and worked on sailboats in the Northeast. Combining her knowledge of sailing and creative expression, she worked in marketing and content development in the marine industry for several years.
